L'Oreal Caresse Sheer Lipstick in Nude Ingenue

I picked this up after reading Miss Budget Beauty's review; I actually went out about ten minutes after reading it to pick one up! I'm really not the biggest fan of L'Oreal and I rarely look at their displays in Boots or Superdrug so I would have totally missed these if I hadn't read her review.

The Caresse lipsticks are priced at £7.99 which is pretty steep for a drugstore lipstick in my opinion. I'd imagine the Revlon Lip Butters will be in the same price range once they hit the shelves in a couple of weeks, though. I think the price is reflected in the standard of the packaging; it's much more robust than I was expecting.

As the description would suggest, this is a sheer lipstick. I went for the most 'nude' shade I could find. My nearest Boots only stocked four shades but I've seen a lot more in larger stores. I swatched a few other shades and found them to be much more pigmented. The shade reminds me a little of Creme Brulee by Revlon which is one of my favourite lip butters.

It has a sweet scent and it's not sticky at all. The wear time with this lipstick isn't great but I wasn't expecting it to last hours.

I don't think I'll be picking up any more shades, to be honest, but I am happy that I own this one and I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it. If you're a fan of sheer lipsticks and don't already have a lot of them, these would be a good product for you. As for whether I prefer these to the lip butters, I'm not sure. I have a lot more of the Revlon products so it would be unfair to compare the two based on trying only one from L'Oreal. Both have their pros and cons but I do think I'd sooner repurchase Revlon Creme Brulee tha Nude Ingenue because I find it wears a bit better.

Stace xx

    1. The Revlon lip butters are nice but they've been way over-hyped! Thanks for reading :D xx
