I felt the need to quickly put this post up because I'm pretty miffed! I recently did a review of the Insta-Dri top coat and in the review I talked about how great it was. My complaint was that the brush didn't go very far into the bottle.
And now I know why...it's because once you get half way through the bottle, this top coat becomes so thick and gloopy that it's impossible to use. I wasn't expecting to get right down to the bottom of the bottle but half a bottle's worth of waste is silly. I don't know why it's happened either - I store my polishes carefully and always make sure the lids are tightly closed. It seemed to just happen overnight. I paint my nails every day/every other day; one day it was fine, the next it was gloopy and stringy. Eugh!
To make things even worse, when I went to pick up a new bottle from Superdrug, they've put the price up to £4.99! When I bought the first one it was only £3.08 and that wasn't on offer or anything. The tag on the shelf still said it was £3.08 but when I went to pay they charged me £4.99. I asked if that was right and the assistant said that the prices had just gone up. Okay, so it's still less than a fiver but this just made me even more irritated by this product. I know I can get it cheaper online and so on but one of the things I liked about it was that it was readily available in the Superdrug round the corner from me.
Do I still recommend it? Well, I enjoy using it, it's a good top coat but I'll be looking out for a new one to try next time!
Just so this post isn't completely picture-less, here's a snap of Teddy from today:
Do any of you have suggestions for a good top coat? I'm in need of a base coat too so let me know what you use for that as well!
Stace xx
I was having the same problem with my Seche Vite. I just ordered some Out The Door. I read good things about it so I hope it works.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I'll check it out :) x
