Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Make Up Remover Gel

 I bought this after reading Adrienne's review. Since it's only £1.42 in Boots (link) there'd be little harm done if I didn't like it.

 My eye make up remover of choice is the Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover (I also like the NARS one which is very similar but obviously four times the price!) which is an oil based product. I find those sorts of removers work best on stubborn mascara but they do leave behind a greasy residue. I normally deal with that by removing my eye make up before cleansing and toning and giving my eyes a quick wipe with the gentle toner.

 This gel remover cuts out the need to go over my eyes again with another product and it feels really fresh and cooling. It's great when you're feeling a bit tired! I'll admit that it's not the best eye make up remover ever and I wouldn't recommend it if you wear a lot of dark eye make up but if you're like me and only wear a neutral shadow/mascara on a day to day basis, this works really well.

I put a blob of it on a cotton pad and press it onto my eye, then I wipe it away. If I'm wearing a lot of mascara or a bit of liner, I usually go in with a couple more cotton pads and the gel. I've never found an eye make up remover that gets rid of everything with just one swipe so I don't mind taking a bit more time removing my eye make up. I'd rather do that than rub at my eyes and lose lots of eyelashes or damage the skin around my eye. 

This is one of those products I'll always want to have in my skincare box because it works for me and I really enjoy using it. I'll probably pick up another eye make up remover to deal with heavier eye make up, though.
