Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Body Lotion

Have you ever made an ASOS order and added a few beauty products into your basket at the last minute? I seem to do that almost every time I place an order and one of my most recent sneaky beauty purchases was this Yes To Cucumbers soothing body lotion. I've never tried anything from the Yes To... ranges before but at the time my skin felt really sensitive, itchy and tight so I hoped this lotion might help.

The packaging is pretty straightforward and easy to use so I have no complaints on that front. Yes To...say that the lotion contains cucumber and aloe extracts, making it perfect for sensitive skin. I have to say that I agree with that; when I used the product it didn't react badly with my skin at all and it did feel quite cooling and soothing. It moisturised my skin relatively well, too.

There are two things that have put me off buying this again; the smell and the texture. The scent is horrible. I was expecting it to smell really fresh and inoffensive but it has a really strong and not very pleasant scent which lingered quite a bit on my skin. Yes To... say that this lotion is 'lightweight' and I don't necessarily agree. It's not as thick as a body butter but it takes just as long, if not longer to sink into the skin. It feels like a thick gel-cream.

As you can probably tell, I have mixed feelings about this product. I like the way it feels on my skin initially and I think it delivers in terms of soothing sensitive skin but I don't enjoy using it because of the scent and the fact it takes so long to sink into my skin despite being marketed as a lightweight lotion. In saying that, I have used the entire tube already but perhaps I was just making an effort to use it up!

The Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Body Lotion is available from ASOS and is priced at £10.00.

Have you tried any products from the Yes To... range? I'm interested in trying some more.

Jergens Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Moisturiser

Jergens has recently relaunched their body moisturisers and I was kindly sent one to review. If you've read this blog for any length of time you'll know I'm a huge fan of body lotions in general so I was pleased to try a new one. I actually reviewed one of Jergens' firming creams back when I first started blogging and had tried several of their body moisturisers in the past. I consider them to be a good quality drugstore brand worth considering if you're in the market for a new body lotion.

This is the Jergens Coca Butter Deep Conditioning Body Moisturiser*.Jergens describe it as 'A rich Cocoa Butter body moisturiser that gives your dry, dull skin a radiant sheen that makes it look and feel instantly more beautiful.'

I don't know if 'rich' is the correct term as I don't find this lotion to be particularly thick; it's definitely nowhere near the consistency of a body butter. However, it does feel quite silky and luxurious to use. It also didn't irritate my skin which is a miracle because at the moment most scented products have been quite irritating.

I was a bit skeptical about the 'radiant sheen' but I have to say, this is not a body lotion that completely sinks into the skin so it does leave behind a slight sheen. It looks a little bit like I've used a body oil rather than a lotion and makes the skin on my legs, in particular, look a lot healthier and radiant. The only downside to that is that the lotion doesn't sink into the skin completely which some might find frustrating. I'd recommend using this product either at night, when it doesn't really matter how long it takes to sink into the skin, or only on the areas of your body you'll have on show throughout the day.

I should also mention that I really like the scent of this lotion; it's definitely a cocoa butter scent and you can smell it for some time after application but it's not overpowering at all.

The most obvious difference between the new Jergens range and their old Naturals range is the packaging. I have to say, I preferred the old packaging because I think the new packaging looks a bit more like something my granny would have in her bathroom. However, with prices starting at £3.49 I'm not going to complain too much about the packaging since it's functional and the product inside is good.

Jergens are running a Style Your Skin competition on their Facebook page. Winners will be given the opportunity to try the new range of lotions as well as participating in a photo shoot which will appear in Marie Claire.

Have you tried anything from Jergens recently?
