The Illamasqua Sale - My Top Picks

Whilst I do love a good bargain. most beauty related sales and offers fail to interest me. This is usually either because the discounts are fairly meagre or because the products offered wouldn't sell at full price in a million years. Puke-coloured nail polish, anyone? Thought not. 

One brand which has impressed me with their current sale is Illasmasqua. They're offering decent range of products with up to 70% off. Okay, there are a few cement-toned lipsticks and lots of base products I'm not interested in, but my current basket includes:

Intense lipgloss in Succubus - £5

This intensely pigmented gloss essentially functions as a liquid lipstick. The shade Succubus looks like the perfect glossy blood red which would suit most skintones. 

Liquid Metal in Surge - £5

I've never tried a Liquid Metal before but this shade reminds me a bit of BeneFit's Skinny Jeans which I loved but found to be a bit too green for me to reach for on an everyday basis. I think this might be a nice alternative shade. 

Precision Ink in Havoc - £5

I've had my eye on this for a while; it's a dark aubergine purple shade which I think I'll love. I was always put off by the £17.50 price tag for such a tiny amount of product but at a fiver, it's a steal!

Nail varnish in Baptise - £5

Most long-term readers of this blog will know that I have a real issue with shimmery nail polishes; I hate 99% of them. This beauty is an exception though; I need it!

Blending Brush 2 - £10

Technically this isn't in my basket; I already own one of these brushes but I wanted to include it in this post because it's an excellent brush. It's a large blending brush so it's not great for precision eyeshadow looks but it's handy for blending in under eye concealer, powdering under the eyes and applying highlighter.

40% Off at The Body Shop & My Sale Picks!

The Body Shop are currently offering 40% off their entire site, including sale items. I've put myself on a bit of a spending ban so I won't be able to take advantage of the offer but I thought I'd share my top picks from their sale items in case any of you are planning an order. I usually stock up on shower gels and body butters from their sales but I've still got quite a few left from the last one!

Raspberry Ripple Bath & Shower Gel 250ml

I've tried this before and it smells delicious! Boyfriend was also a fan.

Green Apple Bath & Shower Gel 250ml

This is another favourite of mine. It smells like fresh apple so it's not overpoweringly sweet.

Brazil Nut Body Butter 200ml

was £12.50, now £5, with discount £3

It wouldn't be a Body Shop sale without some cheap body butters! This one is great if you have quite dry skin. The scent won't be for everyone, though.

Blueberry Body Butter 200ml

was £12.50, now £5, with discount £3

This one is nice if you're a fan of fruity scents. I've gone though about four of these in the past myself!

Raspberry Body Scrub 200ml

was £12.50, now £5, with discount £3

I don't think these scrubs are worth £12.50 but for £3 they're a total bargain! This Raspberry one goes really nicely with the Raspberry Ripple shower gel.

Now would also be a great time to stock up on my all time favourite face scrub - the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion (which I talk about here)

I recently used this site to buy the Essie Fall Mini Collection and thought the service was pretty good. Their prices are very reasonable on certain brands and an extra 10% off is always good! They sell everything from haircare and skincare to cosmetics and nail polish.

UK shipping is totally free as well - I love that! I don't know why I always begrudge paying shipping. Probably because when I order a lipstick which would cost less than £1 to ship, I have to pay £3-4 instead!

I hate finding out about these offers! I'm not supposed to be buying anything (and I have a cheeky haul coming up...I'm waiting for it to arrive!). I was a bit sad when ELF said they wouldn't be having any more 50% off sales so I'm pleased to see one with 40% off.

This sale is interesting too because it only runs between 5.30pm and 9.30am tonight, tomorrow night and Thursday night. 

I'm just about to put up my (belated) post from my weekly make up challenge last week which included an E.L.F. Mineral Gloss so watch out for that!

Beauty Buying Ban - Day 23 - No Models Own for me!

I've never tried a Models Own polish before and since I'm on a no buy for the entire month of August, this offer will be useless to me but I thought I'd share it anyway because sometimes I'm nice like that.
